  VBA CLANCYClick picture to ZOOM
VBA Clancy arrived with us as a six week old foal with his Mother, VBA Answer. They were both terribly thin on arrival and we feared that Answer had no milk for Clancy as he was constantly trying to feed from her and she was getting stressed with him.
We immediately started Answer and Clancy on a gradually incresing level of hay and feed and started to see some improvement quite quickly. Worming and Vaccinations were also given.
Unfortunately, although Answer put on some condition, she then also started creating lots of milk and we couldn't get much more weight on her. Clancy was improving in leaps and bounds however. We left Clancy with Answer for around four weeks and then made the decision to wean him to allow poor Answer to continue in her recovery.
The next step for ClancyClick picture to ZOOM
Clancy is continuing to improve each day although weaning was very stressful for him. He will only eat his dinner if he has another horse to share with and has a long way to go before he is out of the woods.

Clancy has just been introduced to Amaranth, another Brumby who arrived here in poor condition and we're hoping she will 'mother' him a little and show him the ways of the world.

If you would like to Sponsor Clancy and be involved in his recovery over the next twelve months, please call us to talk about different options. Once you meet Clancy, you will see why we're working so hard to save him!

VBA AIKOClick picture to ZOOM
VBA Aiko (Japanese for 'Little One') arrived with us as a two week old foal with her mother, VBA Adie. Aiko is a primitive colour that is known as the Pangare gene - clearly showing her links to the old Timor ponies in her ancestry. Adie and Aiko were turned out into a paddock at our property in Creswick to allow them time to settle before they began their basic training After about two weeks, we realised that Adies milk supply had dried up due to the stress of her capture and also that there was something wrong with Aiko. She began to lose weight and look very dull. Aiko and Adie came into the yards and we were forced to wean young Aiko as her mother was simply too wild to make it possible for us to treat Aiko whilst with her.
The next step for AikoClick picture to ZOOM
Aiko had developed a bacterial infection that had left her dehydrated and terribly ill. We came so close to losing her, she spent a week with our Vet, Anne Jacobs caring for her around the clock. She was too thin to give intramuscular needles to!

Aiko is back with us in Creswick now and has put on heaps of weight. She is rugged and lives with another foal and a Clydesdale mare to look after them both.

Aiko has accepted specialised foal formula milk from a bucket which has greatly aided her recovery. She was drinking up to $400 per month worth of formula as she recovered!

If you would like to be involved with Sponsoring Aiko and helping her to have a bright future, please contact us today!
