ANZACS STORY ![]() Anzac was caught from the wild as a two year old on the 6th of May, 2007. In our May clinic, Daryl Olney used Anzac as a 'demo horse' and started him under saddle. Only four hours after being touched for the first time in his life, Daryl was riding him around in walk and trot and Anzac had all the appearance of a horse who was having the time of his life! Anzac went home with Daryl and continued his training and is now back with us at our property in Springmount. Daryl has done wonderful work with Anzac and he is an absolute pleasure to ride at home, in the forest, on the roads etc. In addition to that, he bows, lays down on command and has a host of other tricks that Daryl taught him during his time with him. Anzac will stay with us as our 'pin up boy' for Alpine Brumbies. he is a perfect example of the laid back, sweet temperament and intelligence that Brumbies have developed in order to survive in the wild and we love him to bits! ![]() AVRILS STORY ![]() Avril was caught from the wild as a two year old on the 23rd of June, 2007. When Avril initially arrived, she was terrified and spent the best part of her time trying to hide behnd the other Brumbies in her mob. After completing her initial training, Avril went to live with Liam, her new owner. Liam is 14 and had never had or trained a young horse before. Liam has done as much as he possibly can to learn about young horses - reading books, going to clinics etc and has developed a spectacular relationship with Avril as you can see! Liam has now begun to ride Avril and they are looking forwards to many happy years of enjoying life together and continuing to learn! ![]() AURORAS STORY ![]() Aurora was caught from the wild as a four year old on the 6th of May, 2007. 'Rory' took to her basic training like a duck to water and went home to her new owner, Jenny, at the start of July. Jenny has done all the work with Rory to get her prepared to go under saddle, introducing scary things like rugs which initially took some time, but they have continued to develop such a good trust relationship that by the time Rory was ready to be lunged with the saddle on, it was a total non-event! We're looking forwards to hearing more of Rory's story over the next couple of months (and years!!). ![]() ANISHAS STORY ![]() Aneishas mother was caught from the wild on the 9th of November and Aneisha was born two days later. Unfortunately, Aneishas mother sustained injuries after her capture, before she came to us and we had to make to awful decision to end her suffering, leaving Aneisha an orphan. Aneisha travelled six hours to come to us without her Mum and has thrived from the moment she stepped foot off the truck. She went straight to her forever family, the Davis' and has 'adopted' their gelding Dex as her Uncle. Aneisha has been raised on a replacement milk formula developed specially for foals and just loves 'milktime'! In her spare time, she hoons around her paddock, pesters Uncle Dex to play with her and sleeps a lot (it is exhausting work being a baby, you know!). | Return Home | About Brumbies | Brumbies available for sale | Clinics, Newsletters and more | Brumby Tails... | Sponsorship, Merchandise and How you can help! | FAQ Page | Contact Us | |
