Our requirements are that the paddocks be securely fenced - normal stock fencing is fine, as Brumbies are respectful of fences (often more so than domestic stock). Paddocks must have access to a yard which we can put hay in to acclimatise the Brumbies to captivity and hand feeding. Water is an essential and some form of shelter, whether that be a hill, trees etc. We turn out mobs of between four and fifteen, so land size would ideally be from ten acres upwards. These mobs will live quietly and happily and we will throw them hay to encourage them to come into the yards. Once they are happily entering the yards and we have space in the program (or earlier if for some reason the property is no longer available), we yard them and bring them back to our base in Creswick. We don't require the property owners to do any of the handling etc. simply throw out some hay so that they become accustomed to being fed - we are just truly appreciative of the opportunity to save more Brumbies! If you think you could help with the above, PLEASE call us as on (03) 5345 1362 or email us at info@victorianbrumbyassociation.org we are really desperate to be able to stop these wonderful Brumbies from going to the knackery!! | Brumbies in Need | Merchandise Catalog | Holding Properties | Make a Donation | | Return Home | About Brumbies | Brumbies available for sale | Clinics, Newsletters and more | Brumby Tails... | Sponsorship, Merchandise and How you can help! | FAQ Page | Contact Us | |
