From time to time, we have Brumbies arrive who are not suitable for rehoming. They may be orphans, have suffered injuries or simply be too stressed to rehome in the short term. These Brumbies go into our Sponsorship program. They will stay at our property in Creswick for the period of their Sponsorship (generally 12 months). Here, they receive the one on one care and attention that they need to be able to thrive and build the foundations to enable them to lead happy, healthy lives. Of course, it costs money to care for any horse. Orphan foals can go through up to $400 of formula each month and injured horses may require veterinary attention. Even if they require none of this, sponsored horses are fed, wormed, vaccinated and cared for on a daily basis. Sponsorship starts at $100 per year. Sponsors can choose which Brumby they would like to sponsor and will then receive a Sponsorship certificate, photos of 'their' sponsored horse as well as a quarterly update with more photos. Sponsors can also visit and handle their sponsored horse under supervision of the VBA. Click on the link to read more about some of our Brumbies who need sponsorship today! All profits from selling the Brumby merchandise are ploughed straight back into the Victorian Brumby Association to help save more Brumbies. To help save Victorias Brumbies simply click the link above to make a donation. All donations large and small will be used to help save the Brumbies. Your donations will be used to feed, worm and vaccinate the Brumbies already rescued by the Victorian Brumby Association. They will also help us purchase more Brumbies and truck them to our holding property saving them from a certain trip to the knackery. WE DESPERATELY NEED HOLDING PROPERTIES TO HELP US TO SAVE MORE BRUMBIES! Brumbies are primarily caught in the winter months. We don't always have space in our program for all the Brumbies who are caught over winter, so the use of holding properties where Brumbies can be turned out until we have progrsm space for them. We are currently developing a network of people who have some spare space on their land who may be able to help us by taking either some or all of these groups for anywhere between a month and six months.
